Hey It’s Josh, I work predominately on the Salesforce platform and design and develop solutions to fit my clients needs. I work a lot on bespoke coded integrations no middle ware which helps keep the work budget friendly.
I have been doing it long enough to have expereinced pre-lightning now known as classic, pre flows when you had workflows and apex triggers. Working with Visual force instead of lightning web components or Aura components before that and having to use multiple javascript libraries to bridge the gaps in processes.
I have experience with Salesforce from a business user perspective, an internal resource, have worked as a Developer and integration specialist as a consultant, Have designed, developer and delivered solutions start to finish.
Why do you make coded integrations and not middle ware (Mulesoft, Zapier, ect)
Well as I had mention above it makes it more budget friendly if you do not need to pay for a platform in between, I do of course have experience building these too and if it is central to your business processes and is a necessity to use one of these, I happy to work with these platforms for you. Of course if it is something that changes all the time or is an API that keeps changing from month to month you may be better going down the middleware route.
What have integrations have you worked on?
Honestly too many to just rail off here sometimes I just build a use case and think what you would need for that, So a few I’ve done things with multiple Google products, Rightmove, Ticketmaster, WordPress, Drupal, AWS you know all the big hitters.
Back to what I was saying the use cases could be anything like I wondered what would say a street Sales team need and when they are booked in a location I thought oh it could check the weather and advise if they would need, extra layers, umbrellas, ect.
Why would I need an integration.
Well as powerful the Salesforce platform is it can’t do everything out of the box. Say you have an estate agency and need to list a property to platforms like Rightmove or Zoopla with a click of a button or just the saving of a record, then this is what you need integrations for or say you want to send things into Salesforce that are not web to lead then you may want a custom web service which can take the raw JSON or XML data it receives and transform it into
